La Playa del Amor en Los Cabos

La Playa del Amor es un espectáculo natural que no te puedes perder entre el Océano Pacifico y el Mar de Cortes, ubicada al pie del famoso icono turístico del destino: El Arco.

Se trata de la última playa bañada por las aguas del Mar de Cortes antes de llegar al Océano Pacífico, ofrece aguas cristalinas y una diversidad de vida marina. A corta distancia por ambos lados encontramos colonias de lobos marinos tomando el sol sobre las rocas. También podemos encontrar inofensivas mantarayas nadando tranquilamente como si volaran sobre el mar.  A esta playa se puede tener acceso únicamente a través de un taxi acuático desde la Playa El Medano ó desde la Marina de Cabo San Lucas.

Entre las actividades que se pueden realizar en esta playa al final de la Tierra, además de caminar, es el snorkel pero únicamente del lado de la bahía, ya que del lado Océano Pacífico tenemos la Playa del Divorcio altamente peligrosa para nadar ó acercarse a la orilla debido al alto oleaje.

La Playa del Amor es perfecta para pasar el día con tu pareja admirando el extraordinario paisaje.

As we all know, the Super Bowl is not just a game.

The Super Bowl is “The Game.”

That’s why we begin every season filled with passion and desire for our team to reach the finals.

       This year, the two finalists are the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots. 
                    Win or lose, all the players are to be congratulated for making it to Super Bowl 2015!

Here’s a little history about the teams and their quarterbacks.

PATRIOTS

Professional football arrived in New England on Nov. 16, 1959, when a group of local businessmen, led by former public relations executive William H. "Billy" Sullivan Jr. was awarded the eighth and final franchise in the new American Football League. One week later, Northwestern University running back Ron Burton was selected as the franchise's first draft choice and Syracuse running back Gerhardt Schwedes was selected as the team's first local choice. The American Football League merged with the National Football League in 1970.

Tom Brady

Thomas Edward Patrick "Tom" Brady, Jr. is the quarterback for the New England Patriots of the American Football Conference of the National Football League. Brady was picked in the sixth round of the 2000 draft by the Patriots.

Born: August 3, 1977 (age 37), San Mateo, California

Height: 6 feet 2 inches

Superbowls: Brady has won three championships in five trips to the Super Bowl. He has also won two Super Bowl MVP awards.

SEAHAWKS

On June 15, 1972 Seattle Professional Football Inc., a group of Seattle business and community announced its intention to acquire an NFL franchise for Seattle. Almost two years later on June 4, 1974, the NFL awarded the group an expansion franchise. On December 5, 1974, NFL Commissioner Pete Rozelle announced the official signing of the franchise agreement by Lloyd W. Nordstrom, representing the Nordstrom family as majority partners for the consortium. Nordstrom died of a heart attack on January 20, 1976, just months before the Seahawks played their first game.

Russell Wilson

Russell Carrington Wilsion is the quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football Conference of the National Football League. Wilson was selected by the Seahawks with the 12th pick in the third round of the NFL draft.

Height: 5 feet 11 inches

Superbowls: Wilson is the quarterback of the reigning Super Bowl champions.

From December to March, three different types of whales return to their home away from home.

Whales are fascinating mammals. Keep reading if you’d like to know more about the whales that visit our part of the planet.

BLUE WHALES

•      The heart is about the size of a Volkswagen bug.
•      100 feet in length and weighing up to 200 tons.
•      A whale’s tongue can weigh as much as an elephant.
•      An adult blue whale consumes about 3.5 tons of krill a day.
•     Baby blue whales weigh 2.5 tons at birth and are 25 feet long.
•    The estimated number of blue whales worldwide is 10,000 - 25,000.
•     The gestation period is about 11-12 months.
•     Blue whales have a life expectancy of 80-90 years.

GRAY WHALES

Gray whales use baleen to sieve krill and other food from the water.

•  They have no teeth.
•  Gray whales can measure up to 50 feet in length and weigh 40 tons.
•  Their gestation period is about 13 months.
•      Life expectancy is 55-70 years.
•     Every year, Gray whales make a 15 to 20 thousand mile roundtrip between the icy seas between Alaska and Russia to the warm waters of Baja California Sur.

KILLER WHALES

·       Killer whales, or Orcas, are hunters and eat fish, squid, seals and other marine animals.

·  Mothers give birth every three to ten years, after a 17-month pregnancy.

·  Orcas are immediately recognizable by their distinctive black-and-white coloring

· They are intelligent, trainable mammals and some are stars in aquarium shows.

·  Killer whales can weigh up to six tons, about the same as a bus.

· Average life span in the wild ranges from 50 to 80 years.
