BLUE MARLIN

BLUE MARLIN

The strikingly beautiful Blue Marlin is the largest of all marlins and one of the largest fish in the world. Females, notably larger than males, can reach almost 15 feet in length and weigh more than a thousand pounds.
The average size is about 10 feet, weighing between 200 and 400 pounds.

The upper half is cobalt blue and the lower silver white. Marlin have a pronounced dorsal fin and an elongated, spear-shaped upper jaw that can be lethal.

Marlin are known for their fierce fighting ability once they strike the hook. They are the holy grail of the sport fishing world and the meat is considered a delicacy.
